Selective Audio Question

Post by MousePotato » Sun Jan 16, 2005 5:01 pm

I was scanning through A&E's giude and found no expanation of how to key certain instruments or vocals in music and I seem to rememeber from the Permeir Pro help giude that there was a method of tweaking certain freqencies which may help what I'm trying to do. Is there a good method for extracting out these sounds?

Thanks

Most of human speach fall under 4KHz so you could probably use a low frequency pass filter to remove some audio above that level.
For instruments you could try to invert the left or right channel of stereo audio to try and cancel out some of the audio that is present in both channels. (Usually the vocals)

Both of these methods though won't remove all of the audio though.
