What is the average size of 30 mins of .avs footage?

I'm not sure what you mean. An avs file is a text script that avisynth uses to determine how to adjust the source video. An avs file is very small compared to actual video footage.

The footage that it feeds/frameserves to other programs is uncompressed avi, but it won't take up any hard drive space unless you save it via a program such as virtual dub. The ammount of space such a file would take up depends on a number of factors including: Frame rate, Resolution, codec/settings used for compression, and the amount of motion in the video.

You mean a .vob with an AVS script?

It depends on how well/poorly the original DVD was encoded. I'd say around 2GB...
