Audio doesn't play in Media Player 9

Post by storyteller » Tue Dec 07, 2004 12:24 pm

Hi,

I recently uploaded a file:

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=55959

in which the audio refuses to play in Windows Media Player 9.

It is Windows Media Player version 9.00.00.2980 to be exact.

This system is running Windows 2000 version 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4.

On this same computer system, using the DIVX player program version 2.5.5 the file play fine with both video and audio.

Yesterday, on my home system, the file played fine, video and audio were both ok.

At home I am running Windows 98 SE, and Windows Media Player 6.5

When I created this version of the .AVI file I remuxed the video portion together with the .WAV audio in VirtualDub. I did a direct steam copy on the video file and a LAME MP3 encode on the original .WAV audio file.

Can anyone confirm that the audio fails to play in Windows Media Player 9?

Does anybody have any idea WHY the audio would fail to play in Windows Media Player?

Thanks for your assitance,

Update Wednesday Dec 8th:

The video HAS been deleted from the local server, as per my request.

I will continue diagnosing the problem and I hope to get a corrected version uploaded soon.

If anybody has any suggestions for why the audio portion of this failed to play in Windows Media Player, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks,
