OGM playback errors

Post by Lavondyss » Thu Aug 28, 2003 2:49 am

This might have been brought before a long time ago, but lazy to search all night. :P

I have problems playing OGM files. I've installed all the necessary video/audio codecs and tweaked it to be the best of my knowledge and it still does not play back for some videos.

It "plays" the video fine, but the video is wrong. The right half is on the left side while the left half is on the right side. It's like taking a picture and cutting in half vertically and then swapping the two halves. The video is not "flipped", so it does not look backwards.

Sometimes, if you fullscreen it and back again, it will fix the issue. It does fix this issue and the video is displayed like normal, but then an error message pops up saying:

"This pin cannot use the supplied media type. (Error=8004022A)"

I've looked everywhere (well maybe not everywhere), but I have not seen a fix for this.

I am using

Win98 SE
all the latest codecs
windows media player classic to play back the OGM vids

can anyone help??

I've got a similar problem, im using xp, with winamp to play it, I've installed k-lite codec pack, and added the necessary bit in the directshow filter in winamp to make it play, but the video seems to lag and become distorted or something similar. I've tried OGGds0995, and that didnt help, I tried some others, and still nothing. I think it's just a output setting thats wrong, like the video is playing faster than the information can be read.

There's problem number 1... NEVER INSTALL ANYTHING THAT COMES WITH KAZAA!!!

Go to www.doom9.org and download the Gordian Knot Codec Pack and look for a program called "Media Player Classic" (found here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... e_id=84358 ). If that doesn't work then I don't know... Cause that's what I have installed on my computer.

The old way I used to do it , under Windows 98, was:

Divx5.0.3Bundle.exe

XvidInstall.exe

OGGds0993.exe

then right click on the .ogm file and "open" open with media player2
and I checked the box that said "only open with this program" - it worked fine.

it still works fine by doing it that way on my newer operating system.

- just a thought. 8-)
