If you are going to encode within the QuickTime architecture then your best results will be achieved with either Sorenson Video 3 or H.263.Suppy7 wrote:what codec should I use to ensure that everyone can view the video?
In order to encode in MPEG-1 with QuickTime you must have the ToastVCD.component which was only available with Roxio Toast 5. MPEG-2 encoding through QuickTime requires the purchase of the QuickTime MPEG-2 component or DVD Studio Pro.Suppy7 wrote:I don't seem to have MPEG-1 or MPEG 2

Apple promotes MPEG-4 because they are among the prime contributors/ip holders of its compression technology (along with Philips, SONY, and many others.) and seem to be the only ones promoting the .mp4 container. As for Apple's MPEG-4 codec I have been unable to achieve good results when compared to DivX and XviD.
That's a decent resolutionSuppy7 wrote:would I just go with the 352x240 res?

IMA 4:1
MP3
QDesign Music 2 (the other 3 are better IMO)
You'd probably like Final Cut better.Suppy7 wrote:can someone help me out? (I'm Using Adobe Premiere -
If your video is longer than 2 mins. you'd probably get much better results encoding in XviD (which is playable on all platforms with: MPlayer, VLC, or WiMP) unless you have cleaner or whatever tools Apple uses to encode their movie trailers.
Hope this helps
