Audio incomplete during DVD authoring

I recently authored a dvd, however a large portion of the videos seeme to have a common problem. During play back, about around the last 80-90%, the audio quits, yet the video plays on.

Now each video has one thing in common, there were all once 29.97fps mpeg2's later coverted to 23.976 set to playback at 29.97 on a consol. Why were they bumped down to 23.976? Cause they were all videos with Tmpge's 3:2 pulldown filter added to them to retelecline them. Well it turns out it does a shitty job of it, so I had to go back through 11 odd some videos and fix them.

Now...the audio problem ONLY occures when burned to dvd (dvd-r if it matters). The regular mpeg2's playback fine. During the authoring process using and older version of Ulead DVD Workshop, I have it set to convert all the audio to dvd compatable wav (the regular audio is all 44100 mp2 "mpeg 1 layer 2?") Only the audio is converted, the video is left alone.

Now, I've only tried playing the dvd on my dvd drive. I haven't actually tried to play it on my consol player yet to see if I get the same effect. I figured I'll ask now so I have a head start on it incase the problem shows on both players.

Ah , now that I've watched it on my play I can sadly say...yup, same problem on consol. Having now actually sat through most of the defective videos on the dvd, I've noticed that the audio skips and what not, causing the video to jump, then speed up to catch up with the audio on some of the vids.
