Fansubbed footage!

Post by Ab-109 » Tue Jun 15, 2004 8:21 am

Hi all, hope all is well :D

I just finished reading A&E's vid and audio guide (fantastic guide btw).

While I wait for my head to stop spinning from all that info I've got a quick question.

Do you have to bother with all the deinterlacing and all that stuff if your using fansub releases as your source (yes yes I know this is bad but it'll do for now)?

I take it the fansub groups would've allready done all that to try and release the best quality they can so does that mean all I gotta do is export it with 100% quality and skip everythin (or mostly everythin) on the guid?

Any info would be great!

Thanks :D

At least 50% of fansubbing groups don't know what they are doing when they encode, and 95% of fansubbed material makes absolutely shitty amv source. It might look pretty decent to you, but after you edit it and send it through yet another compression, its not gunna be pretty.

Also, this is against the site rules to ask things like this regarding fansubbed footage, so be careful in the future.

But yea, for the most part you don't need to do deinterlacing and stuff.
