VCD audio help

Post by ReannaKing » Tue Apr 27, 2004 9:13 am

Hello... whenever I burn my AMVs onto a VCD, the audio sounds all fuzzy and unclear. It's hard to describe it but it really sounds horrible. Any idea what might be causing the problem?

hmm.

VCD? That would probably imply it uses MPEG-1 compression. That obviously has limits as far as quality, but it can probably be tweaked a bit.

How exactly do you compress them to the format?

Layer-2 224kbps is VCD spec audio, which isn't that bad quality wise. So, if you are having problems it is most likely the encoder you are using, or the DVD player which is playing them.

Yeah, come to think of it, we played one of my vids on my friend's DVD player and it sounds fine. I think maybe it's just that my DVD player is crap.

I mean, my PS2 handles DVDs better than it does.
