Xvid Codec Error?

Post by SnhKnives » Sun Apr 25, 2004 2:52 pm

Yeah, id say 97% of the videos i have that are Xvd run Flawlessly, including the ones i encode myself. However, there are 3-4 videos that I have downloaded with some sort of codec error. Its weird. It plays the video, but the video seems tojitter and jump back and forth as if the video had gotten zero sleep in the past 3 days and just drank a whole pot of coffee or something. Its really weird. Its only on a few videos, but one good videos nontheless. Has anyone else had this sort of error and if so found a way to fix it? please let me know.

It could depend on a whole bunch of things - the settings they used, whether they used a buggy build of xvid, the decoder you are using to play it back with.

You cant find out the first two but the last one might show the cause. What decoder are you playing the files with?

Make sure you are using the latest version of xvid, and/or try using divx5 to play the files. You can use virtualdub to choose which codec to use.

That was released in 2002. In other words, a long-ass time ago.

Did you make sure to uninstall the old version first?
