I just got WinXPpro and video playback sucks.Any suggestions
I just switched from WinXP home to WinXP Pro, and its video playbacks sucks at full screen. Ive tryed different codecs + different programs. I know the hardware isn't slowing it down. Does anyone have any suggestions???

You sure are helpful on this site. Anyways, I don't know too much about drivers. Do you know how I can get the best upgrade? The names of drivers. How to get it. Places to check like Kazaa or whatever. Any help you can give is very much appreciated^_^.Zarxrax wrote:Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. This was giving me some problems when I upgraded to XP.

Well on the front of my computer it says "graphics by radeon". This computer has run videos fine for an entire year. So Im positive it has something to do with the software. Isnt there some sort of audo update avalable for winxp Professional? How troublesome!!!!Zarxrax wrote:Check the site of the manufacturer of your video card. Ok, im pretty sure THIS: http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/winx ... bmit=GO%21
is what you want.
You cant trust windows update or anything on this sort of thing. I installed windows xp and I thought, hell my graphics card is like 5 years old, surely xp has the correct drivers preloaded. XP said that it had the correct drivers, and that everything was fine. But no, I had trouble playing video. So I download the latest drivers from the site, and xp warns me that the drivers are "unsigned" and might mess things up. I install anyways and lo and behold everything works peachy. Its windows that screws everything up >_<
