Tsunami Mpeg Enc has an audio tab and if it is defaulted on 128 kbps then change it to at least 224 kbps or 256 something higher. If you are still getting the crackling then the fault may lie in the codec that the original file is in. Beware of Windows media when converting, If it is WMV then change it to AVI first. I use a free program called Stoik Video converter. I think I got it here

If none of this works then check out your system audio settings or something, because I always doubt myself before the software.
