Post by Bebop0083 » Fri Sep 19, 2003 10:56 pm

ok i made some home made dvds with my amvs on them. i have a dvd player that says it can play dvd r yet not dvd r. i guess it depends on what kind of dvd r its made by. the dvd player is a Hitachi. the dvd r i use are memorex. does any one know what kind of dvd r would be good to use on these types of dvd players?? i even tried burning my amvs to cdr in dvd format with menus and every thing since it was able to burn on cd but still didnt work. any suggestions on different types of dvd rs to use??

Did you convert them to dvd video format or did you just burn it as a data?
As far as your media format, check if the player reads dvd-r or dvd+r, thats the one you need. Your burner must also support that format.

Look up both your player and the media at http://www.dvdrhelp.com. They have a very good listing of both what the player should be able to play and also has rating of DVD media.

Also, some DVD authoring software have a 'Quick Eject' option in the burn process. If this option is selected, supposedely it can make the disc less likely to play on certain players. I don't why this is. ULead Movie Factory keeps warning me about it.
