window effect

i want to know how to do the window effect. id like to know how do all the window effects like top window bottom window split windows. usually like the ones you see on commercials. best example would be the lee dungerees commercial where the cop and the dungeree dude go after a suspect. ive also seen it done in amvs. best example for that one would be fyrts Love Hina amv and Trunkssj's Past Present and Future amv. i used to have the plugin but i could never get it to work. some one on the org gave it to me. then i lost the plugin via crash. is there an easy way to these or do i need a plugin??
