Radium = stolen and messed around with commercial codec.
Lame = made by people who wanna learn about mp3 encoding, from the ground up, no code from other sources, not a hack.
XviD = using divx4 sourcecode which went opensource after projectmayo turned into DivX Networks, thus a hack technically, but not illegal in the same sense as the Radium cocdec.
DivX 3.11 is still a hack anyway so the name that the company is using is kinda weird.
Radium is still really old and crappy, using it is just asking for quality issues.
Who wants to use DivX 4 anyway? Since that's what XviD is based on.
I am a remuxing retard... please help

T_T you gotta be kidding ! ??? . . that would explain how my Video's look like the Divx 4.1 - couldn't figure that one out -- ^_^ THx
LAME . . if there is a Windows version of it, I'll gladly switch ( in a heart-beat ) . . because Radium screw's-up my 96k stereo wav's when it try's to encode them into avi's ~_~
- I never really grasped the concept of Encoding the AVI and then going to DOS - to encode the Audio after the Video was complete!!!

well now
XviD binaries released by nic, koepi, and umaniac aren't hacks in any way.. they're compiled binaries from the cvs. There is no liscenced version of XviD, just a bunch of stable and development branches.
LAME was never a hack at all, but just like project mayo's Mpeg 4 spinoffs is a legit implementation of the mpeg 1/2 layer III audio format. Lame is also considered the best mp3 encoder available.
As for XviD and DivX 4, afaik xvid was not born from divx 4, but project mayo bore them both as separate projects with different code. They had the same basis, but DivX 4 and 5 have entirely different code than XviD by now I'm sure. And that statement that XviD looks like DivX 4 is a burn
And it looks like you're asking for the lame acm which works in vfw instead of the commandline encoder, although both are for windows
In which case that exists on both doom9's site and this site in the amvapp.
just look for the lame ACM
