MPEG Layer-3

I need help with this. I dont have that compression and I need it if I wanna get a decent size out of XviD. So is there a place I can download it from, or dose it just come with a video editor only? Or is there a better audio compression that I can get?
Help please...

For audio compression, I recommend using the LAME MP3 codec, which is available in the AMVapp. The Guides have step-by-step instructions on compressing your audio as well.

hummm... I need the codec to work when I am making the vid. I use a mp3 when making it but then when I make the final I dont have the MPEG Layer-3 compression in the options. If you can see that pic, I cant get MPEG Layer-3 in the audio compression colapsing menu. I managed to find the codec but it didnt work... i dunno...

Those guides, as far as I could tell, just told me how to rip a dvd and use it, I know how to do that for the most part.

Overall problem here: Cant get a good audio compression in amv.

Most editing programs do not support MP3 Audio compression. I am not sure waht program that is that you're using there, but obviously if LAME MP3 does not show up there, then you cannot use it. Your best is to :

Make sure you have the <A href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... ml">AMVApp pack</a> installed.

Export using huffYUV with PCM audio.

The file will be huge.

Take it into <a href="http://www.virtualdub.com">VirtualDub</a>.

Follow these instructions, except for anything that mentions audio or changing AVI tags.

Once you have the video setup, goto Audio|Compression. Look for LAME MP3 on the left side in the list. Click on it. On the right side chose a good setting for you. Most people use "44100 Hz, 128 kbps CBR, Stereo 16KB/s". This is probaly what you should use. Don't select ABR or VBR.

Goto file, Save As AVI. Then save your file and wait. ;o

Should be all set, for more explanation. I would suggest you read the guides from the begining.
