You'll pretty much need several programs for this- your best bet is to read through the guides, specifically ErMaC and AD's (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/). It explains ripping and converting footage to be able to use in an editing program, as well as listing the programs.

The only thing I'm not sure of is whether WMM can use avs, though I wouldn't see why not (should just treat the file like an AVI, I think).

If you use GordianKnot found at http://www.doom9.org you can make a DIVX file out of your DVD. And WMM support DIVX. So simply import the Divx you've made in WMM.
If you think about what you tought you knew then you know what you think you thought you knew but you think you don't and If you think about what you thought you knew, then you think you don't know what you thought you knew but you do.
Think about it! If you can't understand my sig, don't you say nothing about my spelling!

gotta agree with radical ed there...

When I used WMM it hated DivX and it still does...
If i ever try to open it with any Divx file in it.. it stalls..

AVI (uncompresed) or Mpg are the best

I go with uncompressed AVI sooner than Huffyuv.
