A question about seperation.

I'm sorry if this question sounds simple but I am an idiot when it comes to making AMV's. Anyway, I was wondering if someone here could tell me how to seperate music from a movie file. I am planning on making a trailer-like AMV but I don't know how to seperate the music from the trailer. Could someone tell me how to do this and/or what program to use to do it and/or a web page where I can get info on how to do this? Thanks!

P.S. If this is in the wrong forum then I am sorry. Iwasn't sure what forum to put it in and this seemed like the right place. Thanks again.

Open the file in Virtualdub. Save the Audio as a .wav file.
