Program that can remove Macrovision from individual file?

Post by Bushido Philosopher » Sat Mar 15, 2003 1:09 am

OK, here's my dillemma:

I've ripped Playstation 2 .pss files and I can get through most of them, but for some reason (mostly the KONAMI games) some of them do not load into DVD2AVI correctly. A pss file is basically an MPEG-2 stream for the PS2 so that's how I got the idea to use it.

Now the problem is that when some PSS files are loaded into DVD2AVI it looks all scrambled.....almost like it's been scrambled in Macrovision! (if this is the wrong term for scrambled VOBs then please tell me)

So I wanna see if it really is Macrovision or not, but unfortunately all DVD rippsing programs that remove that marcovision all assume that its coming from a disc, and so I can't open the file directly into the program.

So does anyone know of a program that can remove Macrovision from any type of MPEG-2 stream that opens the file directly without asking for a disc?

macrovision is when a stripe flickering between dark and light is placed in the overscan area of a video so that vcr's which normally adjust the picture to the best lighting at any moment go totally out of whack.

You're talking about CSS, and Vstrip allows you to rip files already on your hdd.

Damn it.....didn't work. vStrip keeps losing the sync with it.

Any other suggestions please post.
This PS2 footage conversion hunt is getting to be more a problem than it's worth.
