Video Wave Vs. ???

I am currently using Video Wave 5.0 and Windows Movie Maker (with my Window’s ME edition laptop).

The first is good for making videos and has nice options but lacks to support anything but AVI and MPEG And Window’s support’s a lot but lack’s options and creativity.

I’ve heard that Adobe Premier 6.0 is what pretty much everyone use’s but what does it support? How much does it cost? What can it do? How much space does it need? Is it better then Video Wave/What can it do better? And if yes are their better maker’s then it self? And what do they cost? What can they do better? And how much space do they need?. (oh my head is spinning! lol)

I would suggest you read the guides first >_> to get a better grasp on what you're doing.

AVI is standard windows video container, lots of forms of video can be help inside a AVI(uncompressed and compressed in different ways).

You really don't want to editing video in windows with something else, even then you want to make sure it's a high quality source. Like huffYUV.

As for what Premiere features :\. I like the interface. It has a nice set of built in filters. There are some other filters you can purchase/download(I don't really use them though).

What it offers over your current program, I am not sure since I've never used it.

If the program you're using allows you to make videos that you want to make there really is no reason to change. Maybe if you told us what you were looking for we could tell you if Premiere can do it.

There are other "better" programs out like After Effects or Combustion. Those have a large learning curve and aren't really meant for hacking away at video. :\

Premiere runs about $550 retail from Adobe. You can get a demo off their website and see if it's something you like. Preferably you'd get something like a DV200 for $250, that includes Premiere bundled with it.
