I used the amvtool to recontainer it and after i import the file to aae it shows up like this but as you can see the same file in vlc player has none of the artifacts .... thanks in advance for your help!

Source file is MKV MPEG-H Part2/HEVC (H.265)

I remember that a while ago, all the episodes that I recontainered worked perfectly fine, but one episode hasd a 10 second segment that always crashed my Vegas. I got around it by using AMVtool to just convert the episode to a AVI instead. This may work for you as well if all of your other footage is fine.
