Editing Audio in 24FPS in Premiere?

Post by y2kwizard » Thu Jan 02, 2003 11:19 pm

Hey all.

I've read the A/V guide by ErMaC and AD, and I've one question about the audio. What would be the procedure if I would like to edit the AUDIO as well as the video in 24 FPS mode in Premiere? The guide assumes that I'm using a song that will be played from start to finish with no cuts. But what if I've got a DVD in which i have footage with audio that I want to cut?

I've come up with a solution, and i"m wondering if it will work. Will it work if I simply export the WAV file from Premiere using File>Export Timeline>Audio and then slow that WAV file down with BeSweet, using the exact same technique that was used to speed it up, except backwards? Does this seem reasonable to all?

PS if this DOES seem resonable, you might want to mention it in future guides...

that would be a bad idea since you'd be resampling twice. Just edit your source song before speeding it up and then proceed like you normally would.

But say I'm stringing some clips of a movie together, so I won't know exactly where the audio gets cut until I actually edit the movie....

then you'd have to speed up the original, edit it, remember where you made the edits, edit the original and attach to your finished video

I think my main problem is this: If I'm putting together some clips of a movie with characters talking, it's giong to be VERY difficult for me to remember where all the cuts are...it seems that there's gotta be a better wayh to do this...

your original suggestion then would work, but the quality would probably degrade a bit
