CAn't figure it out
Ok... I just got a new comp a couple of days ago, and I want to make an anime music video... I've got some cool clips from the show, but I can't figure out how to edit out the background noise. I'm using Windows XP mvie maker, and I've scoured the help, but to no avail... Anways, Please help me.

I believe there are like some volume controls and you have to move them down all the way or something. I've never used Premiere. Where the hell is MJ when we need him, he's always never here when people ask this stuff.
You can also remove the audio from the clip by opening it in virtualdub, goto Audio, select "No Sound". Then Video, select "Direct Stream Copy...". Then file Save as AVI..., type in a new file...
Then that new file will just be the same thing, 'cept w/o sound. This is of course if you're using a avi and not a mpeg.

oh man.. i had to open WMM to remember this.
ok first switch to timeline view by clicking the top icon at the lower left corner.
next click on the lowest icon on the lower left and drag the bar all the way to the right. close the audio levels window. then click the play button then stop then play again and it should do the music w/o the background noise you will have to redo this everytime you edit something / add a clip to the timeline
