I agree that they are for the fans and thus my argument is that the fans don't wanna see the same videos over and over again (even if they're good). Basically fans want to see good *AND* fresh material. I'll grant you that to a partial extent. Not everyone goes to every con. I, for example, only go...

That's exactly right (minus the zero logic part.) The issue is that there are many killer vids out there, but it requires to little effort to take part in more than one or two competitions. Yes, it is to make room for inferior videos. Exactly. Oooooo-kay, so you realize that, yet you don't see the ...

AX2004 Panelist Invitation Announcement

With AX2003 having come and passed, I am pleased to announce the panelists for next year's Anime Expo 2004. I would first like to thank AX2003 panelists Daniel Araujo, Kamran Ahmadi, Jessica Brunelle, and Anthony Bennett for attending my panel, and it was a pleasure to host them. At my panel, I had ...

Are you talking about Eternal Damnation? I made the contest DVDs that the competition played off of and I don't recall truncating any part of anybody's video. (Rechecking E.D.) Yup, Eternal Damnation played in its entirety based upon the source footage I was given. There's even 2 seconds of black l...

The thing you have to realize is that the whole drama category played horribly at AX this year. It was too late at night, and making people watch really moving sentimental pieces doesn't make much sense. The Drama category played first. Doesn't get much sooner than that. Yeah, the contest was late ...

First off, that damn Yatta video is a troll. How many contests has it won? It should have been disqualified before it got there. I was pleased with how Fanime Con handled the situation: it was booed out of the contest without any awards. My god... I don't recall anything in the AMV community that h...

Re: who else is upset by the events of AX 2003

i dont know about you, but screw those ax judges. I was happy with most of the decisions made....until they announced the comedy winner. I loved the chibi things that kill, but, as all who attended will agree, leaves of happaness got a much bigger response and deserved to at the very least be shown...

Anime Expo deadling approaching (April 29th!)

Just a heads up since no-one's mentioned it, the deadline to have your AMVs postmarked and in the mail to Anime Expo is April 29th. Furthermore, the deadline for the videos to be in their hands is May 10th. It is STRONGLY advised that you get your videos sent in earlier than this to allow for any ma...
