Re: Japanese DVD vs. Japanese BD Help
There's a high chance they switched to HD from episode 101 onwards, then, but it's likely just an upscale before that. You could potentially get a better video from the DVDs depending on how the upscale for the BD was done. As for the levels, the recompression might have hurt (I wouldn't trust dvdfa...

Re: Japanese DVD vs. Japanese BD Help
Looks to me like a levels mistake. Like if a PC level video was played as TV level, and thus had all the 0-15 and 236-255 luma info clipped to pure black and pure white (and the contrast essentially increased). Perhaps try getting smoothadjust: https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=154971 And the...

Re: Top 10% of videos bug?
Indeed, despite allowing videos with fewer opinions in the top, so few opinions are written that no video is in the top.
By now it's an outdated system, I suggest you to check out AMV Monthly and the VCA finalists if you want to watch some good videos and you don't know where to look!

Re: AMV MEP Etiquette?
There is no real etiquette. Rather, it is common, and encouraged, for a MEP to have a set of rules estabilished by the project coordinator, so the participants should simply follow those rules. Sharing the track on its own has happened in the past quite a few times, and is allowed as long as the pro...

Re: Benefit of 60fps vs. ~24/30?
1) Time and patience. Internet has many informations around if you google hard enough (the org's own avtech, wikipedia, and doom9 are good places to start). Most things however you'll learn the hard way, by getting your hand on enough varied sources and trying to understand just what is going on to ...

Re: Benefit of 60fps vs. ~24/30?
Well, late 90s/early 00s sources mix in all kinds of different things all the time. I'll use Death Note as an example, since it's a popular source. It was originally animated at 24000/1001 (footage framerate, actual animation framerate is mostly lower, of course). But then, like it's usual for sourc...

Re: Benefit of 60fps vs. ~24/30?
I could explain it here but I think this guide written by lolligerjoj would be way more helpful in the long run https://lolligerjoj.wordpress.com/2016/10/22/twixtor-on-anime-footage-and-ae-workflow-using-twixtor/ check out chapters 0, 1 and 4.3 in particular, regarding what Mol said he probably mea...

Exactly. If you use this in conjuntion with sakugabooru, you'll quickly find pretty much any scene you might need for your AMVs. The most mind numbing part of editing for me has always been looking for the scenes, but nowadays we got it easier than ever.

Ah, don't be confused, I'm not the developer! I just found it out today, and thought about sharing it here since it's most definitely useful for AMV editors.
