Re: Official Error Thread
I believe that definition is in line with the one used to distinguish between MEP and collab since collab became a category. The change is that they're actually putting effort into addressing past complaints (like in doing leg work to determine if rookies are rookies) and sorting based on the defini...

Re: Official Error Thread
Is there even a filter being applied? I thought they had to sort them into MEP/collab by hand based on the "tracks" criteria.kireblue wrote:the default filter for the mep category restricts the list to 6 videos

@Nate - I saw a review on Ars about those. They look pretty cool and useful for a small business environment.

Re: Anime Boston 2016 - TWO WEEKS LEFT (Deadline 2/13)
I'm still new in this convention stuffs but the less than 1 year of freshness , does it mean the entries which previously already been uploaded on Youtube can be submitted? That's correct, as long as it was first available to the public less than one year ago. I thought it was based on date of comp...

Re: Best Sentimental Video
Uh... maybe I (and everyone else I've shown it to) got it wrong... but this is gallows humor. All those characters die. The music is comedic irony, not sentimental. Right?CrackTheSky wrote:

Re: Official Error Thread
The only link to this section in the main forum is a link that doesn't propagate the "there are new posts" notification flag, so the color is always the same. I didn't realize anyone had even posted here until I accidentally clicked on it. Surely this wonderful new layout has a solution to this long...

Re: Is FPS still important for online vs. convention distribution?
That's how I've been doing it for the past decade or so, so yea. A lot of stuff is animated at even less than 24fps and just frame-duplicated to even get there.BadgerKing wrote:Hmmm....ok. Since the footage is native 23.976, do you recommend just sticking with that...

Re: Is FPS still important for online vs. convention distribution?
It usually only matters in that you're not working with (or submiting, or uploading) interlaced or telecined footage. If you have native 30fps footage, then by all means use it. Always ask when you're submitting to contests, though. While most people are just copy & pasting other contest's tech spec...

Re: Sakura-Con 2016 AMV Contest - Open for Submissions!
Am I understanding the rule correctly: there should be no information about the editor/studio/song/anime in the clip (which is the norm online)? So, basically just the video with no intro and outro and the organizers will make their own? This is the norm for just about every single AMV contest that...
