.hack//Roots was genuine 720p, and it looked great, however an awful lot of fansubs and fansub raws are upcsales. That is SD material that has been resized to HD resolution. Think of taking an 848x480 jpg and resizing it to 1280x720 for sharing with people; you just wouldn't do it. Upscales tend to ...

God dammit no edit button. Also yeah, HD-DVD makes use of VC1 and H.264 more than Blu-ray. I've heard some people complain about MPEG-2 being blocky shit on Blu-ray. I remember some Sony big shot saying they are using MPEG-2 because it gives them "better quality". lolwut. Are they trying to tell me ...

Dual sided dual layer DVDs theoretically hold 17GiB, or in real terms about 16,200MB, but those are extremely rare, and I certainly doubt writeable DSDL DVDs are a) cost effective b) freely available. I figured he wasn't talking about double-sided, since a double-sided dual-layer BRD would approach...

Triple layer HDDVD can hold 51GB, others are 15 or 30. Don't ask me why triple layer isn't 45GB, they must also be using smaller pits and stuff. Dual sided dual layer DVDs theoretically hold 17GiB, or in real terms about 16,200MB, but those are extremely rare, and I certainly doubt writeable DSDL DV...

If you can make said VOB available I can give you step by step instructions, however you should avoid OGM like the plague. It's totally obsolete. Also note that MP4 supports multiple tracks too, so that may be another consideration. I'm not sure why the resolution is 704x396, it's both non standard ...

x264 has been considered stable since revision 80; it's now at 667. This means it's been stable for 2-3 years. Also the updates have slowed down which indicates it's mostly becoming feature complete, or the authors have lives and do not have time any more. VfW is non standard and hacky, use directsh...

Sounds to me like the file could be fine, just your computer is not fast enough to play it back a t low quantizers (they use more bitrate which means more to decode). You can press ctrl alt del and view the CPU graph then try playing it back. If you get like 100% CPU on playback, then that is the is...

I wonder if MKV will be the new mp4 :o ...how come it's not more popular? :? There's more chance of Elvis coming back from the dead. First point is that both containers serve different purposes. The MKV creators had the intention of it being an "editable" container, that would basically replace AVI...
