Re: Pro 9 Platinum
PLatinum is what I use because I can afford it, and I like it better than other NLEs I've tried (though I haven't had a chance to try Premiere yet). The main limitations I have run into are the lack of decent masking (you only get basic cookie cutter) and the lack of nesting (or whatever it's called...

Re: Open videos in zarx
I would just like to add that if your file is a .avi, be sure and import as avisource and not directshowsource. It's one of the big options that comes up when you drag the file in, so it shouldn't be difficult and it makes it a lot better.

Re: Asking for much Help to create One Piece AMV
Not sure if this is where your post belongs, but w/e. 1. The software I use is Sony Vegas. It's good software, but it has the advantage of being really easy to use while giving you a ton of flexibility. It's also really easy to get the trial for it. Here is the download page for the trial version. T...

Re: Which Video Editor is the easiest to learn - open to deb
The only editor I know of that meets most of those requirements (though not technically an NLE cause you have to edit linearly) is the Playskool... I mean Windows Movie Maker. Not only does it not make you fiddle with settings, but it doesn't even let you! Want all of your footage to just go right i...

Re: New to video editing. encoding with 2 different resoluti
I don't really see a problem with resizing the 720p footage in the way that Kariudo recommended. I tried out the method myself because I wasn't familiar with resizing in Virtualdub; while it's not my method of choice, it did work just fine and it kept the same PAR because of the options recommended....

Re: AMVbe 1.2 Now in Beta
I can tell you that I definitely have an interest in this. I'm currently trying to convert a few MKV videos into AVI via the "Desktop/PC ---> Lossless AVI" option, but I'm given an error every time. The best way I know of to do what you want is to open an MKV file in virtualdub via avisynth using F...

Re: Lagarith won't play back! please help
I used to be able to play lagarith with MPC-HC, but now I can't. It's not that big a deal though. Lagarith is used mainly as an intermediate codec to keep everything lossless during the editing process. As long as I can play it back with virtualdub, it doesn't really matter to me if I can play it in...

Re: [Lossless] Ut Video Codec
I personally choose UTVideo optimized for decoding speed. Generally when I'm encoding it isn't a very time-sensitive process. When I;'m sitting down to edit, I like to have as much speed as possible. Yes, ~76fps is more than you need for editing, but you also should take into account everything else...

Re: What filter do I need? Is this artifact halo?
LOL damn thats hard to see, are you an individual frame inspector? O:  It is often difficult or impossible to see the difference, but I say why be close when you can be exact with a single, pre-written line? It's not like it takes any extra effort. On the other hand, think of this highly contri...

Re: What filter do I need? Is this artifact halo?
Crop(6, 2, -8, -2) spline36resize(640, 480) Sorry for another double post, but the cropping and resize lines you have chosen are really odd. The final resolution isn't as important as preservation of detail and image geometry, and by resizing back to 480 vertical pixels you're unnecessarily hurting...
