Re: AWA VAT 2018 Professional Awards Discussion

Now that voting is over, I just want to say to whoever made 741 -- your video not making it into any of the final voting besides wildcard was a huge snub. It was by far my favorite video of the contest, and one of my favorite videos that I've seen this year. Can't wait 'til that one is officially re...

Re: AWA VAT 2018 Professional Awards Discussion

Tried to be less salty than I have been in past years (but still honest). Hopefully I succeeded >_> General impression is that this year probably had the most videos that I really liked, and the fewest that I really didn't, out of all the years I've entered. That said...man, you guys really like EDM...

Re: Shinji: In The Flesh? (Pink Floyd)

I'm not sure if I can say I liked this, but I appreciated it. I didn't think the NGE voiceovers in the first part of the video worked, or were necessary, but I liked the surrealism and experimental nature of the rest of the video. I may have to watch it some more, it might grow on me.

Re: Where do you get your music?

I use the charts over at RateYourMusic to find top-rated music from specific genres that I know I already like, or from specific years, decades, etc. Spotify also has a built-in "Similar Artists" feature to discover music, and other music discovery tools that I haven't really used. You can...

Re: Where do you get your music?

I have Spotify and I'm constantly listening to new stuff at my job. If there's a song I like, I have several different playlists I can put it on, including one for "potential AMV songs". Basically if I hear anything that I have even a vague notion of what I could use it for maybe at some p...

Re: Have you ever bought an anime solely due to an AMV you saw?

I bought Alien Nine based off of this video (also it was stupidly cheap). This was like 10 years ago and I still haven't watched it, so lesson learned I guess.

Re: How to keep up motivation when editing?

Yah my goal is the Anime Expo next year, soo the deadline is not to pressing. Currently I am slowing editing by doing stuff like a few frames a day for masking, the video I posted was about two weeks of work but I am extremely happy with the results. I am trying to pace my self expecting the video ...

Re: How to keep up motivation when editing?

Editing an AMV is one of the few times I find that I'm able to just keep going on momentum -- so in other words, once I start editing, I find it difficult to stop. Most of my videos are comparatively simple and use few effects, though, and so aren't very tedious or "intense", which may mak...

Re: Please Clap (For The AMVs)

I just want to second pretty much everything SQ said. We've been hearing that an .org redesign is "in the works" for...what, like 8 years now? The fact that it's taken that long makes me think that the people working on it probably don't care about it too much, which makes me wonder if I s...

Re: Sualenritsgom

This is one of the most disturbing, uncomfortable, and eerie videos I've ever watched. Although not really comparable in any meaningful way, the only other video I can think of that has made me feel something like this is lolligerjoj's GEHIRNSTURMEN, although mostly for different reasons. I really, ...

The web uploader should work now, so you shouldn't need to mess with FTP.
