Re: The AMV Documentary
Get a a Kickstarter started to get some costs of travelling out of it. I made a presentation about the History & Evolution of AMVs once. For this I learned a lot from other source already on the Web, and disappointingly found only stuff about American editors. (yeah it originated there but there are...

Re: Short Films, PSAs, Music Videos?
Yes! I actually started out with editing short movies before doing AMVs - in contrast with most of the people who posted here. That's actually where my interest is at and AMVs were just practice for me. I'm intending to focus more on short films and documentaries for now, AMV-times are over for me I...

I was really inspired by Walter Murch's interview in the documentary The Cutting Edge - which I recommend you people to watch. http://www.canaltcm.com/myfiles/escritopor/WalterMurch.jpg You see that wall in the background? That wall is filled with shots of all the tapes he needs/has spot. The cool t...

Re: How do you spread the word about your favorite artists?
Heh, we live in a time where we can send Youtube links to each other, use widgets/embeds (like the ones for Reverbnation), tweet stuff and you guys are still sending MP3s to each other? :o It seems like you both would go the extra mile for bands. So let's say your favorite band would say "hey, we ne...

How do you spread the word about your favorite artists?
Dear people, currently I’m busy writing my Master thesis and I need some help with this, which might also lead to an interesting discussion. I’m currently writing in the pre-research of my thesis and it’s about how the fans of artists help spread the word about them (through the Internet), mainly ab...

Re: The art of transitioning
I never really understood what the deal is with AMV-editors and crossfades. It seems like there's this unwritten rule in the AMV-community that crossfades are for slow songs/moments and cuts are for faster songs/moments. Crossfades are overused. Remember the school parties in junior high where your ...

Re: At what point is constructive criticism no longer useful?
The reason I (almost) never ask AMV-editors to beta a video of mine is because they tend to give technical comments which I don't care about. I'd like to know how a video made you feel, how you felt the atmosphere, if you understood the story, if you could grasp the concept, if certain parts are fun...

I'm kinda interested in how many of he total amount of users that have voted aren't AMV-editors. And how many are Americans/Russian/rest of world.
