I use a lot of Netgear wireless products for home networks. Their wireless routers are excellent- good range, great interface, lots of options. Little more pricey than most, but worth it in my mind. But once again, you don't need the latest and greatest- see if you can pick up a used one, maybe?

You should probably convert the vob's to quick time movies then import them. There is a de-interlace filter in Final Cut Pro... though I doubt you'll want to apply and render it to everything (I've mostly used it on stills captured from video- if they remain interlaced, they tend to jitter when watc...
