Re: Ripping Blu-ray movies
Thanks for the big help. Looks like DVDfab will be the one to replace DVD decrypter for the file dumping stage, and I'll replace my current DGIndex with DGDecNV. Process wise, the steps the ought to be more or less the same as dealing with DVDs, just with slightly different software right? Sounds id...

Re: Ripping Blu-ray movies
I should probably read the thread, but I'm just heading out for work and I'm wondering since those posts were made, if there have been any developments. Basically I'm wondering if there is a BD equivalent to the excellent DVD Decrypter, that is something simple to use, automatically obtains the keys...

5 years from now: HD resolutions will be the standard, despite whether the source is HD or not (protip: upscalefags) The org will have a streaming video preview using H.264, AAC and MP4 in effort to save people from bad downloads. H.265 will be in full swing, and people will be bitching about a new ...

You might consider filtering this way round: MPEG2source("F:path\FLCL Vol 1.d2v") Crop(8,0-8,-0) LanczosResize(640,480) Filter Filter Etc. It should be slightly faster because the filters which usually take the most CPU time, are working on a smaller resolution and so require fewer calculations. Bef...

Well the reason DivX and XviD don't work well for editing, along with any other inter frame codecs as Kalium pointed out, is simple. It's just the nature of the compression. In most instances you have 3 different types of frame, I-frames, P-frames and B-frames. Now you don't always need B-frames to ...

I have an iPod. I wish I didn't. I got it mainly for AAC support and on the strength of all the rave reviews (bad move I know). It only has fixed sound presets (no user EQ) The sound quality is bad (bass gets way distorted with some of the EQ presets) Retarded software (iTunes...) When the battery i...

You follow this guide: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/xvid.html This assumes you have the AMVapp installed, or at least Xvid, LAME MP3 and Virtualdub. The main guide is here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/ That will get you compressing to XviD, but if it's for a con, y...

Some lossless videos will play fine, some won't. The amount of data and processing each video requires depends completely on the video source. A video with little action will be easier to play than an all action AMV. As suggested, try converting your uncompressed to XviD if you just want to watch it...
