  • Comments: This amv idea came about in a very strange way. Stranger than my other ones. I was in a amv slump. I had no ideas whatsoever but I really wanted to do some sort of amv. So I was going through my songs and nothing popped out at me. Then suddenly (i don't know what hit me) but I decided I was going to do a Season two tribute. Like my amv "Want to Start Over" was a season one tribute. Thing was the only song I could think of off the top of my head was the song I used for said amv. I pondered using Michelle Branch's "Good-Bye to You" but it fit season one more than anything. So I did a mad search through my songs again and stumbled across my Switchfoot folder. At first I was thinking possibly using the song "Gone" because there were some lines I could fit in the older digidestined as well. But after a while I decided on this song "This is your life"

Now Switchfoot doesn't make their songs like most: two verses, three to five chorusus and a bridge. It's like they decided to sing about something and only have so many things to say about it. So there's a first verse, a chorus, a half of a verse, a chorus and a bridge where they just repeat the same thing over and over. Luckily there aren't too many digidestined in this season that I wanted to worry about so I could squeeze them all in. I started out with Davis and Ken because a) Davis is the main character and he needs to go first, b) the song fits Ken the most so he needed to be in more and c) after a while the two just come as a pair so it was either that or put ken and Yolei in the same place but Cody and Davis so don't go together.

For the half a verse I put Cody and Yolei though I think it mostly fits Cody. Then I was in a battle with my self to figure out what to do with Kari and TK. I couldn't just with hold them from this amv because they're just as important if not more so than in season one. But as I put them in I added in Yolei and Cody into the bridge as well... and then the last chorus comes on and I'm putting in everybody... So finally I just decided I was going to throw away everybody else for the last couple of lines and just do Kari and TK. They deserved their fair share.

This amv was centered mostly around episode 49 "The Last Temptation of the Digi-destined". Despite my dissapointment to the ending of season two this episode is great within itself. One, Myotismon is back. Something I had predicted back in episode 13 "His Master's Voice" though I was mad that he came in yet another form and had no resemblence to the original Myotismon. But also the idea of the illusions and seeing everybody's hopes, dreams and fears was something that really needed to be shown and it was done beautifully. Also it proves, as in the first season when Tai dissapeared after fighting Etemon, that Davis is the backbone of the new digidestined team. If it weren't for him they surely would have lost that battle and possibly ones that had come before.

I believe this song fits pratically everybody and the line I thought fit episode 49 the best was "Are you who you want to be?" because everybody except Davis (i'll get back to him) feel out of place. Cody is a young but very bright young boy that feels out of place with the big kids. He also just wants somebody to pat him on the back when he does something good but doesn't feel like it would be good to say so. Yolei has always had older siblings so she feels that she gets pushed back. Also, as is shown in episode two, she isn't too much of a fighter but has a strong personality that she can't always keep control of. Kari doesn't feel that she has much to contribute to the group because she's not as strong as her brother. In fact after she goes to the dark ocean the first time she felt like a hinderance. Tk... well... He's a bit harder. Episode 49 shows that he wants his family back together which is to be expected from a guy that was really young when the divorce happened. But mostly I think he feels that he needs to take care of everybody (namely Kari) and just can't do it well. Ken is the obvious because he was the Digimon Emperor and he hasn't truely forgiven himself for it

Davis is a whole nother story! As I said earlier, he's just the backbone of the group. He's the glue that keeps everybody together. I wish I could have portrayed that better in the amv. Mostly I took clips of him from earlier episodes to show you how much he's changed and because he was more insecure at the beggining. The didn't build Rome in a day and you don't become a leader over night.

So that's pretty much it... Um... my friend has a new really cool amv that I think you should check out!!! I took some clips from her amv for my credits (my favorite parts) as a sort of preview or whatever. Here's the link because i really think you should download it!!!!! : http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=91587
