  • Comments: All the way back in 2007, when m.o.v.e was in Germany, they had a couple of CDs for sale, among them a single of this song. As I was listening to it I thought it could work extremely well for a racing themed AMV. Couldn't think of a fitting source, so that was put aside for then.
    In 2009 I saw a trailer for the upcoming animated movie Redline, and one of my first thoughts was "The source for my AMV has finally been made". Unfortunately there was no release date in sight yet as the movie made its rounds at the film festivals. Luckily it got screened in Germany at the Fantasy Filmfest in August 2010 where I got to watch it - and it was awesome. The release date for the BluRay kept getting pushed back until August 2011 which was the earliest possible date I could start editing. I did even order the BD from Japan to begin as soon as possible.
    The release date also meant that I would miss the deadline for the AMV Contest at Connichi. During editing I realized the deadline for AWA Masters was possible for me to meet, and since I considered going there (attendance is required), I submitted it there.

    Editing was the usual affair for me: Fast cuts, lots of speed and little to no effects. Did the whole thing in about two weeks, maybe 25 hours total of work. If you know my editing style from my other videos, this is more or less exactly the same, even disregarding the music choice. I just like it like that.

    I didn't win at AWA Masters, lost out to Zarxrax unfortunately. The people still seemed to enjoy it and I got some good comments by fellow editors there, so I hope you enjoy as well! Go watch the movie, too, it's absolute kickass.
