  I've been sitting on this idea for maybe three years now. It was originally intended for the Old School Cartoon AMV Project which ended up collapsing before I got around to making either this video or the Cowboy Bebop/Scooby Doo video I had planned for it. Fast forward to a few months ago, and the theme for this year's Anime North contest was announced as non-anime television theme songs. Since many of the videos already made for OSCAMVP had already been be released, I figured now was as good a time as any to finally put this video together. The timing was helped by Anime Central's theme being trailer videos, which I figured this was close enough to qualify as a trailer. I had been struggling to get started on my VG5 segment at that point, so I figured a short video would be enough to get my creative juices flowing again. It worked, and thanks to this video, I am super primed for more editing!
  
  This video was the runner-up in Anime North's theme category, falling short of beating He-Mon and the Masters of the Spiralverse (which was totally awesome and absolutely deserved to win), and at Otafest, Stay Frosty won an honorable mention for Best Trailer.
  
  I got help on this video from different sources than I usually do, so I'd like to thanks to haunter103, CrackTheSky, Fall_Child42, and everyone else who commented on this during production. I should also thank badmartialarts for posting his Lain script on the forum and Beowulf for requesting that he do so.
