ROUND FOUR!!!

_____________________________________________

56 people have been eliminated.

8 people remain... :O

Anybody (Lantis..) want to give us some fancy shmancy stats on how the brackets have gone so far?

Anyways. Here is how this round is going to run, and I think it's going to give us some of the best videos we've seen so far, since it's really throwing open the floodgates in terms of creativity (at least compared to the previous rounds).

In this round, both the audio selection AND video selection will be changed. Now PLEASE read this thoroughly so I don't have to re-explain it when it comes time to actually do the source selection process.

You will once again provide me a list of 5, except this time, each "item" will consist of THREE sources. Here's an example of what I mean.

1. Cowboy Bebop Vol. 1, Fushigi Yuugi Vol. 4, Getter Robo Vol. 2
2. Naruto Vol. 3, Princess Mononoke, Genshiken Vol. 1
3. End of Evangelion, Evangelion: Death & Rebirth, Castle in the Sky
4. BECK Vol. 1, BECK Vol. 2, BECK Vol. 3
5. Cowboy Bebop Movie, Cowboy Bebop Vol. 1, Cowboy Bebop Vol. 4

See what I mean? Now, I will point out that you CAN double up your individual sources across two different picks, however, you CANNOT have two identical items (meaning, you can't have two of your picks be Kenshin Vol. 1-3.).

I encourage you to be sensible in your source picks and try to not put all your eggs in one basket. Meaning, I would select three wildly different sources and then choose one or two of them when you get your song. This will give you more freedom when it comes how you can deal with your song.

Now, as far as the song choices go. In this round, instead of giving you just one song that you have to use, I am going to give you FIVE songs, and you get to pick ONE of them. You will have to tell me which song you will use BEFORE the match begins and you CANNOT change it after the match has begun.

Because of this increase in song choices (and thusly the download time), I will be giving you the song pack ONE HOUR before the match begins, so please factor that extra hour in to your schedule.

YOU ALSO HAVE 48 HOURS TO PREP FOR THIS MATCH, SO KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN SCHEDULING AS WELL, SINCE YOU WILL DO THE SOURCE PICK 2 DAYS AHEAD OF TIME!! :O

ALSO! You still have the option of editing for 2 OR 3 hours.

Everything crystal clear? If you're confused about any of this, please let me know!

Now get to scheduling your matches. Only 7 more matches remain!!! :O ZOMG.

Kinda complicated. Needs less song choices in my opinion.

Welcome to Bipolar Brad's Bestiality IC Emporium!

originally wanted it as a reference to the crazy carl-esque ads, but I like it none the less.

Sure. (My bracket is currently 25-31, and at best can go 28-35.)

Round 3 country stats:

US: 10 editors, 4 head-to-head matches. 5 survivors, 5 eliminated. (50% survival, 12% of round 1 entrants survived)
Canada: 2 editors, 1 survivor, 1 eliminated. (50% survival, 17% of round 1 entrants survived)
Australia: 2 editors, 1 survivor, 1 eliminated. (50% survival, 25% of round 1 entrants survived)
Germany: 1 editor, 1 survivor, 0 eliminated. (100% survival, 20% of round 1 entrants survived)
UK: 1 editor, 0 survivors, 1 eliminated. (0% survival)

For Round 4:
US: 5 editors, 2 head-to-head matches.
Australia: 1 editor.
Canada: 1 editor.
Germany: 1 editor.

The UK has had all of its editors eliminated.

Australia is Number 1 (now that the UK is out of the game)... yup, we're awesome.

Hmm, I can't say I like this new set of rules. Being able to choose between 3 DVDs is definetely a good thing since you can be safe of suprises, but hell, how much footage preperation time is that going to be? I think I'm not the only one that wants to use his computer for something else in those 24 hours than encoding :P
I think it would be quite nice to up the source selection time to 48 hours before the match then.

Being able to pick a song is also a nice thing, but in the perspective of fairness I don't really like it, but meh, that's propably just me :P I guess I kinda grew to the totally fixed sources in the first 3 rounds.

Geh, sorry. I had meant to mention that. You will indeed be given 48 hours of preparation time instead of 24.

As far as the multiple song choice thing goes, I had said from the beginning that each round was going to get more and more different and thusly more difficult (and by difficult I mean, while having those options may make it easier for you to make a good video, it also makes it easier for your opponent to make a good video, so this is where your personal editing skills are really put to the test).
