WMM doesn't like my song

Post by starseekergem » Thu Dec 21, 2006 3:50 pm

I've imported a song into WMM and it worked fine on the timeline. But now the audio simply doesn't work in my project. The song plays fine if I click on it in the Collections but it just doesn't play on the timeline. Any ideas why?

Probably because you're trying to edit with an MP3 file. Am I right?

Yes, but this is the first time this has ever happened.

It's best not to edit with MP3 files. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't (not unlike DivX/XviD video files). You're going to want to (ideally) rip the song directly from a CD, or, if you don't have the CD, convert the song to an uncompressed .wav file.

I converted the mp3 to wav and it still doesn't work.

Maybe the song your trying to use is a horrible song, and it's trying to help you?

I've tried all that. I think the problem was caused by my own stupdity and WMM being generally stupid. I manged to accidentally overwrite some of the source footage and my attempt to replace it backfired badly.

Sweetdeily and I have never had a problem with MP3's in WMM, They work better than any other format (adds) for me, I've heard that they cause sync issues in premiere and other programs tho.
I believe that sweets has had a problem with WAV in WMM tho.

Admittedly I've never had a problem with MP3s in WMM, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
