Hey guys, I'd like to direct your attention down this way for a moment. Once again, the Melbourne Anime Festival (MAniFest) is holding an AMV competition and we would dearly love for you guys to participate once more.
Last year we saw a significant increase in the number of entries, as well as the quality of the works submitted. This has therefore led to MAniFest perhaps becoming one of the toughest AMV competitions down here in our part of the world and we would like to keep the competition as awesome as last year if not even better. And for that, we need you guys to once more give us your best.
We're now accepting snail mail entries (this is our preferred method), however if you feel that you cannot send us your videos via mail, then give me a buzz and hopefully we can work something out (but please, try the mail first).
The rules can be found in http://www.manifest.org.au/amvcomp.php . Exact date for the convention should be announced in a month or so, but it is more than likely that the due date I have set for the entries will remain the same.
As well as the standard AMV competition, we also run our own variation of an Iron Chef competition, held over 24 hours, and not just a one on one battle either. The rules for that will come soon, but in the meantime, if you are going to be near Melbourne and attending the convention near MAniFest, start thinking about this because it's hella fun (and see if you could beat the 2005 Iron Chef, bluetrain).
Finally, we're also having an Exhibition session in which we showcase the videos which didn't quite make the cut in the competetion, as well as videos which have been asked to show only and not compete, and also the MEPs we are keenly wanting to premiere then as well as some of the more awesome new arrivals in AMVs.
There's a lot to be had in MAniFest in terms of AMVs this year, so be sure not to miss out. I look forward to your videos

Oh, and did I mention we give away medals for prizes as well as a swag of anime goodies (last year it consisted of complete box sets and plushies)?
EDIT: The Iron Chef competition information can now be found on http://www.manifest.org.au/iron.php
