The Online AMV Iron Chef Tournament v1.0 - FINALS

Tash VS SSJVegita0609

Original Rules Thread, Round 1 Thread, Round 2 Thread, Round 3 Thread.

Well, it's been nearly 5 months since I originally announced this tournament, and we've finally made it to the final round. This tournament has been a ton of fun for myself and I hope for the contestants as well! There have been many excellent videos produced during this event, and I also believe that it's helped some editors become better at what they do. And while there has been a lot of talent shown amongst the contestants, there can only be two in the Final round. And those two are Tash and SSJVegita0609.

Alright. Remember how I said the final round would be different? Well, here's how it's going to play out.

RULES FOR FINAL ROUND

Song Selection:
This is probably going to make the most significant difference in this round. For the final match, each contestant will be given a list of around 10-15 songs exactly one hour before the beginning of their match (each one will be downloadable). They will go through the list and listen to each song and choose the one that they would like to edit to. This will give the editors much more flexibility and creative license, rather then having to be locked into one song that was pre-chosen. Also, this will also have an effect as to how the contestant fill out their DVD lists. The song list will be comprised of different styles of songs, so the possibility for different video genres will be pretty great (for example, in the list there will probably be a few songs well suited for a drama video, some well suited for action, comedy, etc. So when filling out your anime selections, you can plan on being able to find a song that should be able to work with whatever anime you get).

Anime Selection:
Each contestant will again make a list from 1-6. However, this time, instead of making each list item be 1 DVD, it will be 3 DVDs. The same rules apply about not using DVDs you've already edited with in the tournament, and you can only repeat a DVD once throughout your list. Confused? I'll give an example of a sample list:

1 - Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away
2 - s-CRY-ed Vol. 2, Spriggan, Akira
3 - Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, Millenium Actress
4 - Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Escaflowne Movie
5 - Cowboy Bebop Vol. 1, Cowboy Bebop Vol. 4, Cowboy Bebop Vol. 6
6 - Love Hina Vol. 1, Love Hina Vol. 6, Love Hina Christmas Movie

As you can see, I made my list with various "themes" in mind. For item 1, it's all fell good Ghibli films. So when the Song Selection comes up, I am going to be listening for a song well-suited for a Ghibli video. Or inversely, for item 2, it's all action, so obviously I'd want something fast and hardcore. So, when you create your lists, keep this method in mind.

One thing to keep in mind however, there is no rule stating that you HAVE to use ALL 3 DVDs that you get. If you're more comfortable with just using 1 from your list, that's fine.

ALSO!! Because I've tripled the amount of footage you need to rip and prep, I'm also tripling your prep time. So, we will do the anime selection THREE DAYS before the day of your match. This will give you plenty of time to rip, prep, and watch your footage.

Editing Time:
For this match, you will have the option of editing for the 2, 3, or 4 hours. I wanted to add on the option for 4 hours this time around because, hey.. It's the Finals. I want these videos to be the cream of the crop. Hence why I'm also changing around the song and anime selection process. It'll be up to both editors to agree on how long they want to edit.

Well, I believe that covers everything! I wish both Tash and SSJ the best of luck, and I can't wait to see the fruits of this match :) This time around I will talk to the two of you individually about what day you want to do your match.
