could do without Rave Master. fantasy Pokemon rip-off. and no rave music...
Rave Master is better than Evangelion and all the other anime I've listed, besides, perhaps you should read the forum rules as well. Let's not forget that was just my opinion. Think before ya post.
Well, that might be the case, but still this thread is about what animes the world could do without.

So I must protest that you list Neon Genesis Evangelion among one of them. That is truly the greatest anime series of all time. In fact if it weren't for that anime series I would not be into anime at this point in time. Neon Genesis Evangelion is truly one of the most revolutionary animes, with the best story, greatest chracters, and most orignial plot line ever to exist on the face of this whole f*cking earth! The reason this series got me into anime, was becasue before I was into anime I was into RPGs. A lot, as of right now I have beaten 54, and I think then it was 45. But anyway I was really getting sick of their mediocre story lines. They all seemed like the same thing over and over again, and the best one I had played were Grandia II at the top and Xenogears just below. But every other RPG I just thought was pretty good. Nothing specail, jsut the same thing over and over again. So, I thought, why not try something new.

I knew of anime, and all I had seen was AKira, when I was ten so I didn't understand it, and Ninja Scroll. Plus what ever anime are in those RPGs. Anyway, I decided to try it and then when I saw the prices I freaked out. I mean it was 50-100 dollars a series, and I was use to spenind 40 at the most on a game. So, I started with Steel Angel Kurumi, I knew if I didn't like it I would still get some pleasure out of it. Anyway at work I was asking around about some good anime series, but most people hadn't seen or even knew of anime. Anyway, finally someone recommends me Neon Genesis Evangelion. I hesitated at first wondering about it since it was 140 dollars. I knew I didn't want to spend my money on something that was mediocre again. So finally after a few days passed I bought it, and was really worried about it. I began to watch it, and it seemed funny and actiony in the beginning so some pluses, but as it went on, the story exploded into nothing but greatness even more and more. I had never experienced anything like this before, truly it was revolutionary. i loved every second of it all the way through. And in the end it was the KEY factor in why I got into anime. I swear if he had recommend anything else at all, except for maybe Berserk, or Escaflowne, I would have considered anime as mediocre as my RPGs and would have nevver gotten into anime. Who knows what I would be doing right now. Also it was one of the main reasons my brother got into anime, that and BGC tokyo 2040.

So, to say that that anime is something the world could do without is truly a false statment! I remember someone telling me that the reason the creators made eva a world coming to an end anime was because all the other animes out there were just silly happy endings, and most anime fans were getting sick of it. I don't know about that, because I wasn't into anime at that time, but truly NEON GENESIS EVANGELION, was truly the greatest, and still is, series of all time, and it is truly the KEY factor in the fact that it got me into anime, and I don't think anything else would have.

So you can have your opinoun, and say action packed nudity is the way to go, but then I have the right to defend mine, and to tell you that your not any better then liking stuff that hollywood sh*ts out. So Evangelion stays, and DBZ can be shot off to the sun! Happy flight  !

Oh, come on now. Without Lupin the 3rd, all we would have is mecha and fighting. We wouldn't have Outlaw Star, Trigun, .hack, Lunar Legend (Shingetsutan) Tsukihime, Ah! My Goddess, Princess Mononoke, the list just goes on and on and on.

All we'd have would be Shounen Jump stuff (not saying all of it sucks, just saying most of it does) and a hell of a lot more Gundam, and Gundam-Style things.

Now, on to what I would shoot. Probably Yu Gi Oh, InuYasha, DBZ, or naruto.

Naruto? You can't be serious. As for DBZ, do you have any idea for how many people used DBZ as their gateway Anime? I agree with you on YU-GI-OH but Inuyasha has enough decent moments to keep around.

While i may disagree with your opinion, i must say that Lupin the Third is quite important. I can explain why in one word: Sideburns. Sideburns are always important. Why the hell do you think Elvis was so popular? cause of those little hip shakes or that voice? hell no.

i only saw some of this series on cartoon network, and for the few episodes I saw it really just looked awful. All it was was theieves going around stealing stuff and not getting caught. i was a little hesitent to say anything about lupin the third, because I ususally don't like reviewing things unless i have seen the whole thing, but the few episodes I saw really looked awful, but if you say it is good or need, although i don't know quite how it made outlaw star or prince monoke, then it can stay. Its just from what I have seen. but Sin we can still all do without!

I actually liked Lupin the Third, kinda, but if you defy the wrath of Neon Genesis Evangelion... I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND DESTROY YOU! And I think Inuyasha is actually pretty decent so far (considering how long it has been on the air... ) I never really liked DBZ, but it HAS been a gateway drug to better anime. And if you think Naruto or Ranma 1/2 suck... you can never bear the title OTAKU  .

I think it's been on the air too long. stretched itself thin. I think that for most of the third season, despite the new characters, new ultimate attacks, and the new red everywhere, the conflict btwn the characters has more or less been at a standstill. but i stopped watching during that season, so i may be wrong.

Thankfully, Inuyasha finally stopped after 167 episodes and at least three movies. While it had its' slow moments, things did pick up the pace at the end. In terms of anime the world wouldn't miss, I have yet to find one that I thought was that terrible, although I tend to avoid things that seem uninteresting to begin with.
