First off:

SPIKE IS DEAD

If you pay attention to the points made over the course of the show, it should seem fairly obvious that Spike is a doomed man. The general theme of Cowboy Bebop seemed to be "you can not live in the past". Spike couldn't let go of his past and so he died.

He is dead.

The show would actually be injured if they suddenly said "nope... he's alive"

HELL - If the star going out at the end doesn't make it clear, I don't know what will.

Now... as for the topic of the thread.

Will there be a Cowboy Bebop 2?

I don't think so, but I certainly have discussed this with my friends and it really is this simple...

The show is called COWBOY BEBOP

not THE SPIKE SPIEGEL SHOW

You could easily do a Cowboy Bebop 2 by picking up pretty much where we left off.

Episode 1 - Jet Black and Faye are now the crew of the Bebop (just as in Episode 1 of the original, Jet and Spike were the only crew)

The story could move on to add new characters...

Faye has now earned a lot of wisdom from her season one storyline... and she could be a stronger voice of reason.

Hell, maybe even a romantic storyline develops between Faye and Jet because of their shared experiences... who knows?

I see a lot of potential in a Cowboy Bebop 2, but chances are there will never be one.

since its doubtfully theyll make a CB2 heres some of my suggestons.

1 make more Cowboy Bebop movies.
2 make a 7 part OVA about each of the characters. that way more depth.
3 do a spinoff series

id like to see the OVA on each of the characters. to me there wasnt enough information on some. they could show how Spike and Jet teamed up. More information on Julia. To me she was kinda of just there. she was only in flashbacks and the last two eps. seeing more background on the Titan war. to me the Jupiter Jazz eps didnt explain enough. sure there were some info on the CB movie but not enough. id like to see an OVA series and more Bebop movies damn it. sure it would take 2 freakin years for them to come over to us. esp if released by Columbia Tirstar like the first movie.

Actually Faye was on the bebop when he left (remeber the scene where she didnt want him to go and put a gun to his head)

And you are all intitled to your opionions as i am mine. I still see no complete conclusion to the fact hes dead, but thats just me

I think UncleMilo covered it pretty well, but to reiterate:

Did you guys not watch Cowboy Bebop or just not pay attention? Spike is dead. If he doesn't die the entire show goes to hell. It was inferred the entire show that he would die. Also him, Julia and Vicious are related, the moment Julia died, Spike and Vicious were goners. Why do you think Faye wanted him to stay, she knew he was going to go kill Vicious and die as well.

Did you guys need them to spell it out (even though they more or less did)?

He's dead, deal with it. Cowboy Bebop has finished, deal with it. Sorry to be so harsh, but I am sort of sick of hearing this just like I'm sick of hearing about Eva series 2 and junk. Some things are fine the way they are and don't need additional information/story.

Cowboy Bebop... Hmmmm...
However! There could be a spinoff I think that could be worth covering... It all depends on some "unanswered" questions... Faye Valentine and Jet had quite a past behind them. I miss Ed and Ein, those two cracked me up...

If not a continuation [which as many of you said would probably butcher this series,] a 3 part oav or something would be good as a little "extra" to it's millions of seething fans that want more.

An OAV that explains the origins of Faye Valentine [greater detail would help]... OR

A little something like "What happened AFTER Spike's death?" Did the Bebop just up and disband? [considering there's not many members on it anymore, that wouldn't be too hard would it?]

I for one wouldn't mind seeing just a little "bonus" stuff thrown at the fans to tell us. Would any of Spike's friends visit a grave for instance? Reminiscence OAV extra? Just wondering... Nothing more. I'm not as "into" this series as other people are... ^_^

ah, but spike does say "I'm not going there to die", so they did leave the possibilty of him being alive

i mean, he is spike,

and i really hate psuedo happy endings, its either gotta be a horribly bad guy wins ending (like berserk with femto becoming a god and the entire band being slaughtered, and gatts loosing his arm and caska getting rapped by demons and such), or its gotta be a nice happy ending

Spike is dead, he was dead from the very beginning of the series. Now abou the OVA's I would like to see more about Spike and Julia. How did there relationship evolve, how were they found out...you know the details.
