So you want to learn Japanese

English Sentence:
Jane went to the school.

Same Sentence In Japanese:
School Jane To Went Monkey Apple Carbeurator.

This actually reminds me of the funky sentence structure I'm trying to learn in Spanish. I mean really, how can feelings have you, you have the feelings dammit.

Bull fuckin Shit .. I just got the fuck back from Okinawa and no one hated it when I tried to speak japanese. Everyone out there thought it was kinda cool. MCCS (Marine Corps Community Services) even had a Okinawan native come out and teach us a few words and give us a heads up on customs and curticies. Did you know that is Disrespectful to stick ur chop sticks pointing up in your food, like u would with a fork and a steak. I didnt read all of that stupid essay, it pissed me off too much so i stopped and decided to flame it here. 8) Anyway. You may find a few ppl that dislike you using their language, but thats just the type of ppl that are out there.

Come now, just because a language is different doesn't mean it's insane. English was decided to be one way, Japanese another, it's stupid to get hung up about it, it's not like there's a Japanese council a thousand years old saying "Ha ha, let's make our language really illogical to westerners! Yah that'd be funny!"

the trick to languages is not to think of them as a translation of your native language but as a separate thing. For instance in German they have a single word for "a path with knotted tree roots".

Or so my teacher told me.

Incidently i speak about 5 languages 2 flewent/almost flewently and apparently Greek is the hardest to learn.
