All kinds of stuff messed up

Post by Bahamut God » Sat May 15, 2004 1:09 am

I'm not sure if someone has told you yet, but there are all kinds of small problems on the site at the moment. Two examples I can think of off the top of my head...

The numbers on the banner info is one higher than it should be. Like in the black space on top of that box, says 2203 and the last line "Winners" Says 365" All lists in boxes are like this.

This is a small problem, but the bigger problem is when I look at profiles, even my own. The list of anime, and the links are messed up. My profiles say I have no videos except one called fkkj which should have been erased a long time ago. (and it was for a while) The links have diffrent things vertical. I'll even give you screen shot. If I do a super search for my screen name, they all show up though.

There are lots of little problems like this lately. It was not like this before, and it has been this way for about a month, I just have not said anything yet. I'm using Safari 1.2.1.

Do you know what's going on? :x

Hey,

The site is going from a table-based design to a style sheet-based design. This change speeds up the load time of the page as well as greatly reducing the bandwidth needed for each page. However, some browsers interpret the CSS differently than others. Most of these differences can be compensated for within the style sheet. Unfortunately, I don't have a Mac to test things with. I've had to rely on other people telling me if the CSS works on OS/browsers that I don't have access to.

The issue you have discovered was similarly found in other browsers and corrected with some CSS tweaks. If you or you know of someone who is good with CSS, you can look at the current style sheet and try to develop a fix for the issue. If you succeed, let me know what to change and I will include it in the site style sheet. The fix must work with Internet Explorer and Geko-based (Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, Camino, etc) browsers on the PC as well as Safari, etc. on Mac.

Sorry for the issue. Good luck and have fun!! ^_^

Phade.

At least in Safari. Going to have to figure out how to fix this...

In the mean time, Mozilla works fine.

Cool, I can wait. Safari is so damn fast, I hate using other browsers... I'll give mozilla a try though. Can't hurt to try.

I tried mozilla, it was really ugly compared to safari, and a little bit slower. This site worked on it though. No enough of a change to switch though. -_-

Maybe it's faster cause it does not work with this site? Hmmm...

Try Chimera, or get a theme for Mozilla.
and a little bit slower.
hmmm, odd, on my Mac Mozilla is faster. Probably depeneds on the site.

But anyway, it still needs fixing.

Hmm, I thought firefox and mozilla were the same thing for a moment. I was checking out firefox.

...I'll check out mozilla. (again)
