Q: What would be the Ultimate and Ideal AMV . . . . .
Q: What would be the Ultimate and Ideal AMV; or is there such a thing!?
I just ran across, "[Koop] Euphoria (RVP).avi" Euphoria by Koopiskeva (Jay Naling)
and this struck me as being totally out of place from everything else which I have seen, so far, on this board; but then it hit me that This Is What AMV's should be looking like 8)
Now, I may be wrong on this point of view, are there any other AMV's like
this one listed anywhere? if so, I haven't seen them nor can the search engine seem to find them!!
I really need your help on this and I am quite serious about that subject too.
Thx

The videos which would be most similar in style to Euphoria are MADs. I'm sure Omnistrata can point you to them.
As dokool said, there's no one way for an AMV to look. Personally, I think Euphoria looks nice, I like looking at flashy stuff, I think flashy stuff has a place in MVs, and I borrowed/tweaked one of its visual devices for one of my videos, but that's really all I can get out of it. (If there is a story, I must have been dreaming or I wasn't onto something. Pinch me to waking.)
I find something visually simple like this to be much more fulfilling...

I think that in order to see the meanings behind a video, you have to watch it many times over until you are no longer so suspectible to the flash design, the wow factor that limits you to visual appreciation.
What Koop did (in my opinion) was create a video that conveyed the feelings and thoughts he had for the anime, and he did this in under 4 mintues or so.
He compacted the metaphorical and idealism of the anime into a visual stimulation that conveyed a lot of depth and talent. What's more, he did this in sync with the music, interlocking the two into a unity that was able to bring out the emotional quality that he (might) feel for the anime.
now.....you should check out amvs listed under drama. Try this one:

Yes, and those colours really help emphasise your seriousness.post-it wrote:I really need your help on this and I am quite serious about that subject too.

The perfect amv is the one you don't create.
