A device, typically a tightly encircling bandage, used to check bleeding by temporarily stopping the flow of blood through a large artery in a limb. (from Dictionary.com)

This right here is a very intense song. This is the song of a person committing suicede. When I first heard it I couldn't find the relavence of "tourniquet" in a song about suidede, as a tourniquet is a device to save lives, not take them (see above). However, I did manage to figure out the meaning of the title of the song - one of the lyrics is "My God, My Tourniquet, return to me salvation". What this means is that the singer is crying out to God to stop the flow of her blood... in essence, she does not want to die, even though she tried to kill herself, so she considers God her life saving device, like a tourniquet.

And I'm sure you're saying, thats all very well and good, but what does this have to do with Inu Yasha? The gist, the reason I made this video, was to show what the characters of Inu Yasha think of as their salvation or wish to salvage. I chose the second Inu Yasha movie because it deals with this concept very well - the only part of the video not from the second movie I think you'll be able to pick out, even though its a mix.

    ~~Video Spoilers - I'd read afterwards if I were you. ^^ ~~

As stated, I was trying to show what the characters wish to salave in this video. I start out with the Naraku scene, because well, Sango tried to "kill the pain" of having to fight her zombie-brother Kokaku by killing he who controlled him. "I'm pouring crimson regret" - I think this lyric is pretty ovbious, the regret is both hers and Kokaku's in the flashback of Kokaku killing their family. (On a side note, for those of you who can see or who have seen the movie, isn't Kokaku amazingly ripped for a 10 year old? o.O He's hot!)

Next verse: I had a really hard time with Kagome... I couldn't seem to get it to do what I wanted. In the end, the meaning is this: this verse expresses the singer's doubt that anyone will remember them if they're gone... I think we can all agree that Kagome feels second best to Kikyo... every one wonders, who does Inu Yasha love more? Kagome? or Kikyo? Kagome is, of course, "dying" in this sequence, as you can see with the arrow... she remineseses about Inu Yasha for a while, wondering if he'll remember her death over Kikyos... at the end she snaps out of it to rescue him from himself....

Ah, the musical interlude! I had so much fun with this part, comapred to the rest, it was sooo easy! ^_^ I'm quite proud of the fact that, excluding the Sando/Kohaku part in the beginning, the rest of the video progresses in chronological order through the rest of the video... the interlude explains how Inu Yasha comes to rescue Kagome in the movie.

This is where I screwed with the audio... the song isn't actually this long... I rearranged it to be over a minute longer. ^^ I needed Inu Yasha to have his own lyric... so the one I needed is repeated in. In order to do this, I had to bring the sound down to zero and then back up to normal again so it didn't sound really horrible. A couple of my friends commented that it seems like the song never ends. ^^;; Sorry about that.

This is getting overly long, time to wrap it up. The Inu Yasha part isn't hard to figure out... The song's about suicede. When Inu Yasha goes into full-demon form, he's killing off his human heart, he's killing himself. Ta-dah! Kagome is of course his salavation, his God, his "tourniquet." ^^ As Inu Yasha is hers - he gave her the motivation to get off of the "cross" she was on.

The last part of the vid is a wrap of the fight... by the way, the girl, the villian? Her name is Kaguya. ^^ Very close to Kagura, and she uses a mirror like Kanna... interesting, no? ^_^

    ~~End Spoilers~~

Eek, sorry thats so long. Anyway, I had a lot of fun with this video. As far as effects and meaning go, I think this is my best work yet. ^_^ But whoo, it tired me out. Video-break time for me. ^_^ I hope you enjoy it!
