I had originally intended to use this song for the Miwa/Meiko relationship, as I feel that the song describes Miwa's situation with Meiko slightly better then Kei's situation with Miki. Meiko has some very real feelings for Miwa by the time their relationship ends, whereas Miki is never truly in love with Kei and basically uses him as a transitional man. I also sympathize much more with Miwa - he really cares a great deal for Meiko, and I don't think you necessarily get the same impression in Kei's case. However, because I was working with fansubbed video, I ran into problems working around the subtitles. Miwa's pursuit of Meiko relies very heavily on dialog, while Kei expresses his feelings better without words. So it was much easier to do this video with Kei. Perhaps when MB is released on DVD without hard subs, I’ll go back and re-do it as a Miwa Satoshi tribute.

Despite using Kei as something of a fallback option, portions of the song lent themselves very well to him – such as the piano in the background, and the sequence where he composes "For You" ("...I designed this rhyme to remind myself how I tried so hard..."). And he really does try. He just never gets quite as far as Miwa does. But the ultimate result for both men is the same.
