Another old, old, idea that had to wait until I got the widescreen resub to become Shin Hatsubai video #21. Though the rough-draft technique adds half again as much time to the completion schedule, it is DEFINITELY worth it. It's not as good as my X video (the definitive statement on Swedish death metal and destruction), but that's only because Jesper's solo starting at 2:47 is a lot slacker than Peter's solo in "Adjusting The Sun". Not to mention that dragons are way cooler than tanks.
Another contender for the first AMV idea I had, I can remember roughing this idea out while watching Akira for the first time (bad Ninja-Turtle dub and all). First video with the rough-draft technique, and I still think it's pretty cool.
Provided they can accept the format and don't hate on the more violent parts (c'mon, it's an _AKIRA_ video fercryinoutloud), this vid will be entered for competition at Neko-Con '02.
Shin Hats Self-Grade: A. Despite a couple slack parts, I have not felt this good about a video overall in a long time. The original MPEG2 looks particularly godlike.
Stats: #clips: 66. avg length: 3.73 sec. total time: 20.5 hours.
There are some additional notes about the process that went into making this video, and later SH videos, here.
