For years now, I've been a fan of survival horror games. Clock Tower 3 happens to be the first one I ever played, so it's definitely memorable to me. Most of my video ideas are based on hearing a song and matching it with a series. That wasn't the case this time; I wanted to share the story of Clock Tower 3 with people who had never heard of it, so I searched for quite a while to find audio that would suit it just right. When I heard King Of Terrors, I knew my search had come to an end.
This is an action/horror video that follows Alyssa Hamilton's story. She returns from boarding school to find her family missing, a malevolent stranger in her home, gateways to other realms that have been revealed, and spirit entities that are determined to track her down for an ancient ritual. The subject matter of the game is very dark, and likewise, some of that is reflected in the video.
For my first attempt at editing video game footage, I feel it came out well. It was certainly more difficult to manipulate than anime, but that made it all the more rewarding when I was able to obtain the effect that I wanted. I enjoy VGMVs, and since there are relatively few of them (with the majority of those using footage from RPGs, such as the Final Fantasy series), I've wanted to contribute to the genre. Something a bit different, and something that I enjoyed personally. Without a doubt, the Clock Tower series is both.
I hope that you'll enjoy this video. It was a new and exciting experience for me to work with something so different from my past editing sources; I learned much in making this, and am happy with its mirroring of the mood of the game. It's ominous, dark, and grim.
When nightmares creep into reality, where do we have left to run ?
