  • Comments: Well here it is. This video was edited entirely using one large avisynth script. Don't believe me? here is the script and try it yourself (assuming the link still works). I would post it here but it's over 200 lines of code... i tired to make the comments straight forward and should be easy to implement if you try it. The code itself isn't very tidy or uniform in some cases. i did just about everything in sections and then put them together at the end. i probably could've done it differently, but this way worked best for me to keep everything in a way I could quickly move to.

    Technical notes:
Avisynth is indeed a very powerful tool. Being able to edit a video like this is amazing. I can do more stuff here then I could with most GUI editors. But it comes with a cost. It takes about 10 times as long to do something as simple as a cut. Timing is very tedious and I had to take a few days off just to get away from it. After each cut I had to render out a small section of the video to see if it was correct. It was very tiresome and I'm glad I cut the song short: P At one point it took me about an hour to cut and time one section of eight cuts. I had to do a lot of short math to get the right frame when a beat started. It was a pain in the ass to say the least. I ended up changing my idea a bit and used footage from the first OVA. This is why the clip numbers are weird. I deleted all the clips I'm not using.

The video is about Kenshin. He's thinking of people he's killed and Tomoe. At the end he thinks of Kaoru and wakes up from the daydream. That's pretty much it. Enjoy.
