This video is a step in the direction of the type of videos I normally do, which would be of the drama category, however it is also a step in a completely new direction, as there wasn't much editing involved in this video at all. To be specific, this video only has technically 1 clip. Along the lines of the popular Bike Race video that used Golden Boy I took a song which I felt fit this clip extremely well and went with it. Very little actual editing involved. I placed the perfect clip with the perfect song.
There are a few things about this video other then that which makes it a little odd. For one, I purposely used subtitled footage and left it in the video. This is there to allow the viewer who hasn't seen GTO or doesn't remember the scene the ability to understand what is happening. Since the dialog plays such a key role I felt it really needed to be left in. I would have liked to be able to keep the actual spoken word in the video, but that itself would add conflicting songs, so I dropped the audio and left the subtitles in it's place.
This video really is an experiment in the practice of putting the perfect clip for the perfect song, so I am not expecting everyone to like it. The song is around 6 mins long so length wise the video could get boring. Also, if you don't like the song or the anime you will most likely not enjoy this video. What I am really looking for is the feeling that it evokes in those that it touches.
