  • Comments: A trailer for the anime psychological thriller, Perfect Blue. Inspired from the messiness my last trailer made (the old version of The Blue Star) I felt that I needed, no I HAD to redeem myself from Blue Star's self-proclaimed bad quality. This time, however, I'd make the trailer using appropriate aspect ratios (not mixed ones), use good TMPGEnc settings like ErMaC's (thanks to Ermac, btw ^_^), and a bunch of other little things that make a video worthwhile.

This is the first video where I've used DVD decrypted footage. I'm happy. The decrypting was a bitch to figure out at first, but thanks to Ermac yet again and some patience, it turned out damned good.

The music was pretty easy to figure out. After I saw Resident Evil: The Movie (decent flick, btw) and sampled the soundtrack's hard rock at, I decided to use one of the the soundtrack's songs, Seizure of Power. Falling Away From Me, however, despite it's record of being used all the time, was pretty much begging me to use it in a video and it fit perfectly with the repetitive insanity of Perfect Blue. I mean, the song's great; you just can't argue with that. Speaking of music, the song at the very end of the video is Sleeping by Stabbing Westward.

Most thanks go to ErMaC. His Eva Trailer was a great boost for inspiration, and because of his great video guide helping me through the hell of decrypting, decoding, and all that.

This being a trailer, it's not very long. About two minutes or so. From this conclusion, most can figure out that I did not use both songs fully, but simply put them in parts that deemed appropriate.

Also because of the fact that it's a trailer, there are no spoilers. So this video is aimed towards those who want to see Perfect Blue but are unsure. In my opinion, Perfect Blue is one of the best anime movies I've ever seen. Also, at the very end, during the credits, some will noticed the Next Generation Films Inc logo and website. THESE NO LONGER APPLY. I plan on re-editing this and getting rid of the old logo, but don't hold your breathe. I might not get it done at all, heh. =P

As always, your thoughts on my videos are greatly appreciated.
